CREATING GREAT CITIZENS AND LEADERS THROUGH GOLF IS THE SRG EAGLES PERFORMANCE ACADEMY THEME. CREATING HIGH PERFORMANCE JUNIORS, ON AND OFF THE COURSE, IS OUR MISSION.
SRG Eagles Performance Academy in The Colony, Texas is a road map to the game of golf – a progressive level model that is designed to progress a young golfer through the game as their skills and abilities to grasp the concepts of the game mature. The program will provide set times for skills development. Each player will progress through according to their abilities as well as at their own pace.
SKILLS PERFORMANCE section of our program. Beginning level of the program and starting to learn all about golf and developing skills.
White Hat Division is the Skills Performance section of our program. This is where he basic skills needed to play and perform are introduced and instilled.
This is our beginning. where Juniors that have little or no prior instruction fits in. They do not have to be a member of SRG Eagles Performance Academy and may acquire the hat by attending a Junior Golf Camp (Spring, Summer or Fall) at the facility. This stepping stone into the SRG Eagles Performance Academy Development Program meets once a week for two hours.
Continuing development of skills, demonstrating abilities, training through elementary testing and understanding how to score. Participation in PGA Jr. League Golf
Basic understanding of the skill sets to play the game (full swing, chipping and putting), general rules knowledge, object of the game, parts of the course, simple etiquette (how and where to stand, respect for others, general care of the course). Display through verification by a coach certain basic skills. Player must be able to answer questions on the foundation of the game. Player has met our minimum Benchmark qualifications.Ready for PGA Jr. League Golf.
Skills progressing into more consistent performance with demonstration of scoring ability. Preparing for competition.
Greater understanding of the skill sets to play the game, expanded rules knowledge (regarding hazards, obstructions, and casual water, ground under repair). Have the ability to lead through example at practices. Complete certain Benchmark Skills testing and verifications with a coach. To earn level, must complete a basic rules and etiquette exam. Begin playng in Team Golf events.
PLAYING PERFORMANCE. Improved proficiency in skills testing and rules knowledge. Participating in team and entry level individual tournament play.
The Blue Hat Division is the Playing Performance section of SRG Eagles Performance Academy.
As a player achieves Blue Hat 1, they have an expanded knowledge of the rules proven through rules testing; show leadership during practice; and shows ability to play 9 holes. Player is registered with the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation and is ready to represent the team and coaches in PGA Jr. League Golf, the NTPGA Team Golf and for competition in Prep Tour events. Has proven skills improvement in Benchmark testing.
Demonstrates higher level of proficiency in playing the game and ability to play 9 holes and manage scoring.
Begin to give back to program by assisting golf professionals with Level 1 and 2 members; competing in a minimum of 3 events on NTPGA Junior Golf Prep or Medalist tour or similar tours and events; demonstrating self-reliance in practice (verified by a parent, golf professional, staff or higher level member). Succeeded in improving Benchmark testing.
